Another excercise in writing a dialogue in a dark fantasy setting, this time is centered on a clairvoyant that reveal that allude to dark secret of a man's past, upsetting him.
This also work as an example of building tension.
Ana:<<You can't keep it inside forever.>>
Samuel:<<What? What the bloody hell are you talking about?>>
Ana:<<What happened that night wasn't your fault; you really had no choice.>>
Samuel:<<I-I have no idea what you're talking about->>
Ana:<<Your mother...the pickaxe...>>
Samuel:<<How the hell… No, whoever told you this, was only a lie.>>
Ana:<<The spirits has shown me that in a vision; I know everything: the beatings, the mistreatment...
They were too much for a child, and you couldn't let it continue or she would have killed you too>>
Samuel:<<NO! My mother died in her sleep, she was nothing more than an old drunkard, too sick and poor to afford proper care. What do you hope to achieve? Do you want to send me to prison by any chance?>>
Ana:<<It is not my intention either to cause you harm or to blackmail you; I just want you to finally face this thing that has been tormenting your own existence for years because that is only way you will finally be able to live again, to free yourself from this suffering.>>
Samuel: (after a brief moment of silence) <<And what if, instead, this internal suffering was my very own punishment?>>
